I'm so sorry you lost it. Their little lives are fragile. There are so many things that need to go right and some problems are unavoidable, even with the most experienced chicken keepers.
Often a chick comes into the world with problems we cannot see inside them, so lacking that ability we do our best, and the strong will survive.
Over the years, with many years in rescuing birds and animals of all varieties,
I have learned not to take extreme measures in every case. Often letting nature take its course, is the humane thing to do.
