I had twelve road island reds. They are about 18 mo old. Some are going through their second molt & we were only getting 3 eggs a day. We decided to get six younger egg laying chickens.
We mixed their food because we were told to do this. They seem to get along fine. It's been a month & we are still only getting 2-3 eggs a day.
